Cosayach was founded in 1985 in order to exploit the extense Caliche mining resources belonging to Grupo Errázuriz, a leading Chilean family owned economic group, engaged in various business activites including – among others- mining, real state & insurance, fishing, forestry and agriculture.
Cosayach is a reliable partner for the supply of iodine to the world, by having strategic and long term alliances with agents, distributors and final users to provide stable, smooth and safe supply chain from the driest desert of the world to customer´s warehouse in a timely manner.
It is Cosayach commitment to provide the best product and the best service, by means of continuous improvements at production facilities, management practices and business compliance to meet or even exceed the most demanding industry standards in the world.
Cosayach has one of the few largest Caliche resources empowered by the prompt sourcing of sea water to guarantee the most sustainable, longest term supply of crude iodine and nitrates.

Sustainability
Minimum fresh water consumption in our productive processes. Our sea water extraction systems, located in the coastal area of Caleta Junin, work at a ratio of 250l/s (900 m3/h), used mainly as industrial water for our lixiviation processes.
We keep track of our air quality with various stations spread throughout the region, measuring Coarse Particulate Matter (PM10), Fine Particulate Matter (PM2,5) and Sulfur Dioxide (SO2).
Looking out for the local flora, our monitoring program periodically studies the impact of mining in our Tamarugo tree (endemic tree of the region) constantly trying to improving their care.

Born from a Chilean-Japanese joint venture, Atacama Kozan specializes in the production and commercialization of high purity copper concentrate. Founded in the year 2000, current annual production of 1.800.000 mt.
